Bio
On a moonlit patio of a courtyard café in California, Traildriver was born of a regular Sunday evening singer-songwriter appreciation society. Jared Petrich and Keith Palmer uncovered a musical kinship there, and a melodic eclectic mix of country, alternative, and folk music.
Together now for a few years, Jared (vocals, guitars, harmonica), Keith (drums, harms) and newest member Anna (bass, harms) are inspired by a myriad of music: The Beatles, Dylan, The Band, The Pogues, Tom Petty, Tom Waits, and Ryan Adams to name a few. "We bring different and overlapping backgrounds and influences with us when we write. Coming at the music from different angles makes our collaboration unique, yet we'll often reach for the same idea at the same time." (says Keith)
Recording and producing an album is an experience always filled with discovery. "Once you've lived with the songs, played them live and daydreamed of what other elements you might infuse them with, the studio is luxurious." (says Jared). "The structure of the song is already built and solidified, so then it becomes 'What color are you going to paint the house?'"
Ever-conscious that the best art stems from those who do what they love and remain true to that idea, they look forward to playing anywhere there may be those compelled to sing along. And as their music becomes well-received by a wider audience, they are happy to share it...
